- 200g Water
- 7g Instant Yeast
- 200g Flour
- 300g Flour
- 10g Salt
- 20g Butter
- 80g Water
- The Poolish
- 1 tbsp. Parmesan
- 1 tbsp. Oragano
- 1 tbsp. Basil
- 1/2 tbsp. Thyme
- 1 tbsp. Chili Flakes
Here is all you need to make the most fluffy Sandwich Buns at home. Just follow the few steps below and get started.
Mix the Poolish ingredients into a sticky batter and let it rise on a warm spot for about 1 hour or until doubled. After that knead all the other dough ingredients with the Poolish to a smooth dough. Knead for a minimum of 5 minutes to get a smooth dough.
Oil the dough and cover until doubled on a warm spot.
Now we shape the Sandwich Buns. The dough is enough for 4 Large Buns, but feel free to shape it the way you like.
Slightly cover them and let rise for a final hour or two.
In the meantime prep the topping with shredded Parmesan(please use the real one, not the wood stuff), Oregano, Basil, Thyme and Chili Flakes.
After the last rise spray with water or slightly brush it on and sprinkle the Cheese Mixture onto the buns.
Bake at a 200°C/390°F preheated oven on the bottom for about 12-17 minutes. To help rise more while baking put some water in a ovenproof dish in the oven.
To get the most fluffiness cover them with a damp towel after baking and let them cool. If you want to eat them days after put them still slightly warm in a plastic bag like a zip lock bag.
Put on what you like. We used Sour Cream, Ham, Pepper Salami and Cheese.
