Greek Chicken Gyro
Ingredients
Gyro Spice-Blend
- 2 tbsp ground Coriander
- 2 tbsp ground Black Pepper
- 2 tbsp shredded Thyme
- 2 tbsp Chili Flakes
- 1 tbsp Cumin
- 2 tbsp shredded Marjoram
- 2 tbsp shredded Oregano
- 2 tbsp smoked Paprika
- 1 tbsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tbsp Salt
For the Marinade
- 400g Chicken Breasts or
- Boneless Chicken Thighs
- 3-5 tbsp. Olive or Vegetable Oil
- 1 Onion
- 3 Cloves Garlic
- 2-3 tbsp. Gyro Spice-Blend
Optional
- Sesame Seeds
- Pepperoni Rings
- Garlic-Lime-Mayonnaise
- Tzatziki
Who doesn’t love Greek Food? Especially if it’s so easy to make at home.
Mix all the ingredients for the Spice-Blend together and set it aside.
Cut up your chicken into chunks or fine slices. In a bowl mix the chicken with a sliced onion and crushed garlic, add oil and 2-3 tablespoons of the Spice-Blend. Cover it and let it rest for 1-12 hours in the fridge.
On high heat saute the chicken until it’s nicely browned and crisp. Add some Sesame Seeds and roast for 2 more minutes.
Serve with rice, Garlic-Lime-Mayonnaise and pepperoni rings. Perfect with tzatziki from the Greek Burger Recipe or in a Wrap.
